Principal's Message

Welcome to the Plaquemines Parish Learning Center! As principal and instructional leader, I am proud to offer a learning environment that reflects rigor, relevance, and respect for each student enrolled in the PPLC. Our faculty and staff are eager to assist students in making their experience here a productive one. In order to personalize the learning experiences for each student at the PPLC, our professional learning community designs lessons using data-driven decision making along with a strong focus on improving reading comprehension and strengthening writing across the content areas.

Through our Connections, GED, and other rigorous classes, we are able to provide students with lessons and assessments that are aligned with those requirements from the state and district so that students will remain on track to complete their educational goals.

We look forward to inviting parents and the community to partner with us in designing a learning environment that is safe, orderly, and reflective of high student engagement.
Setting rigorous goals supported by academic and behavioral interventions will serve to build the capacity in our students to learn at high levels. The decision to succeed is a choice made by each student.

At the Plaquemines Parish Learning Center, our students do not fear success; they embrace it!

Sincerely,

John Vanison
